The first much loved Popper Monster Book, ‘Magical Rainbow Lunch Adventure’ was published in April, 2022 and this was also made into a big book edition for schools in 2023. The popular Popper Monster sequel, ‘Magical Shape Lunch Adventure’ was launched in April 2024. Written by children’s book author and Primary School teacher Eleanor Geoghegan who is based in Kilkenny, Ireland. Eleanor has nearly 20 years teaching experience working in both mainstream and special education settings. The inspiration behind writing the books came from her two autistic children. Eleanor wanted to dedicate a moment in time to them while also providing a fun and engaging way for all children, including children with additional needs to learn first concepts and new ideas. Eleanor is a passionate advocate for Autism awareness, understanding and acceptance.

The Popper Monster is a unique and loveable character who uses a magic stick to invent silly and funny monster foods to fill a mumbling, grumbling monster belly. Many animal friends help along the way and in the sequel, a super sniffing side kick Dino Jay also comes along for the adventure. Eleanor knew through her own experience that lots of language repetition would help children learn and enhance engagement, so the trademark sensory flow and rhyming patterns in the books were born. She also wanted to write books that adults and children would enjoy sharing and retelling over and over again. Eleanor loves making up adventures for Popper Monster and wishes she had a magic stick to use at lunch-time!

Eleanor’s latest book moves away from the world of children’s fiction, Isla’s World, A Girl’s Puberty Guide was launched in December 2025. Written in a social story styles format with directive language and positive phrasing, this guide contains factual information which is conveyed in a reassuring, repetitive and inclusive tone by the book’s neurodiverse main character, Isla.

All books are beautifully illustrated by talented Ukrainian illustrator Helena Crevel who lives in Paris, France.  She brought Eleanor’s vision of Popper Monster and Isla perfectly to life on each of the full colour pages. All books are printed on silk paper stock to enhance texture.
